Description
The Blackfoot River is an iconic river made famous by writer Norman Maclean, and the movie “A River Runs Through It”. It begins near the continental divide, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness and flows to the Clark Fork River near the town of Bonner, MT. It is home to a variety of wild trout. Westslope cutthroat trout, rainbow, brown trout, and bull trout.
Dry flies are the main attraction in season giving you the excitement of watching a rise to your fly followed by the fight that ensues. June starts the hatches of Salmon flies, Golden Stone and Green Drakes where later in the summer smaller mayflies, caddis flies, and hoppers are active.
Along with great fishing, the Blackfoot provides exciting rafting and scenic site-seeing.
