Blackfoot River Fly Fishing
The Blackfoot River (A River Runs Through It) is one of Montana’s more popular fishing rivers.
Available in full day trips only.
The Blackfoot River is a scenic, cold river being fed by snow and springs. It begins along near the continental divide, in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and flows to the Clark Fork River near the town of Bonner, MT. It is a home of westslope cutthroat trout, rainbow and brown trout, and bull trout (bull trout are listed as a threatened species and cannot be targeted for fishing).
Dry flies are the main attraction in season giving you the excitement of watching a rise to your fly followed by the fight that ensues. June starts the hatches of Salmon flies, Golden Stone and Green Drakes where later in the summer smaller mayflies, caddis flies, and hoppers are active.
Along with great fishing, the Blackfoot provides exciting rafting and scenic site-seeing.
